Monday, October 9, 2017 – The Christmas in St. Louis Board along with the St. Louis Public Library are pleased to announce the kick-off of the 2017 Coloring & Essay Contest featuring local children’s author, Ryan Nusbickel. For the coloring contest, Nusbickel has provided a page out of his book, “The St. Louis 12 Days of Christmas”; the book will also serve as the subject for the essay contest.

To kick-off the contest, Christmas in St. Louis, in partnership with the St. Louis Public Library, is hosting a free story time event on Wednesday, October 18th at the Carpenter Branch. The program will include a reading by Nusbickel, followed by holiday crafts for the kids and a reception with pizza and gooey butter cake.

The winners of the contests will receive their awards during the Ameren Missouri Festival of Lights on November 18th.   The four first place winners will be named Junior Grand Marshals of the Ameren Thanksgiving Day Parade that will take place in downtown St. Louis on Thursday, November 23rd.
